Catalogs
Early on at Cotopaxi, one of the best ways for us to communicate our brand ethos was via print catalogs. I oversaw the entire process, orchestrating pagination, flow, narrative direction, paper selection, copywriting + editing, proofing, and more for these projects, often also chipping in as a writer — and in some early cases, doing the entire design.
Fall 2021 | Everyday Away
I love the texture in this catalog. Our Art Director, Ainslie Perlmutt, excelled at bring textural elements into our designs, which I thought played nicely with the idea behind our products—made by expert craftspeople using deadstock (scrap) materials.
The team traveled to various areas in the Pacific Northwest for this campaign, led by the indomitable Mat Kestle.

Fall 2019 | Get Out There
This catalog remains one of my favorites, and I think it’s a high-water mark for the brand’s travel storytelling. With a skeleton cast and crew, our Producer, Mat Kestle, traveled to Colombia and captured a stunning adventure that we then documented with stories from Cotopaxi’s impact partners, recipes from the trip, and compelling product spots. I designed this one myself and co-wrote the copy with the brilliant Elizabeth Barton.

Holiday 2018 | Do Good.
This was one of our scrappiest catalogs, but it’s a classic. We wanted to emphasize the playfulness of the brand, plus highlight our products’ sustainability features in an exciting way
Most of our products featured remnant or deadstock fabric or had some sort of responsibly sourced materials, so we used natural materials and products we scoured from thrift stores to round out the designs. The heavy amount of spray paint we used to tighten up the color schemes may have offset any sustainability gains from the approach, but we still had a great time making this one.
I’m particularly proud of the headlines and copy. 🤓
